MAKING THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY BRIGHT ACROSS THE MIDLANDS
Columbia, S.C., November 14, 2013 – The Salvation Army of the Midlands is proud to provide Christmas presents for children in need across the Midlands of South Carolina. As many are aware, the past few years have been tough on families and we are finding the need for assistance to be great. We need your help to DO THE MOST GOOD this Christmas season.
The Salvation Army of the Midlands' Christmas Warehouse provides Christmas presents each year to families who have demonstrated the need for assistance. These children are represented by angels with their Christmas wishes and clothing sizes available as gift ideas and suggestions. Our goal is to serve each child with three (3) gifts and a Christmas stocking. We are reaching out to individuals, families, church groups, civic groups, businesses, etc. to include providing for those less fortunate in your holiday festivities. You can adopt angels at Columbia Place Mall or Columbiana Centre between now and December 8th . Our angel trees are staffed and ready to assist you in picking your angels and collecting your donations.
Another way to help is with a toy drive of your own. Consider turning your holiday festivities into a "party with a purpose" by having new, unwrapped toys collected for our Christmas Warehouse. Or maybe you have a business with customers who you would like to reach out to. We can provide flyers, posters, and a toy bin if needed. Our staff can even collect the donations on site. We will promote your toy drive on our website, through social media, and through our media partners to help make your efforts a huge success.
For more information, contact Major Roger Coulson, Regional Coordinator/Corps Officer at The Salvation Army of the Midlands at Roger_Coulson@uss.salvationarmy.org or call 803-309-6435. Together, we will put smiles on the faces of children in need this Christmas.
"Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time." ~Laura Ingalls Wilder
