Our Christmas season begins in October. It is a time of joyful, hectic, never-ending activity.
In fiscal year 2013 (October 2012-September 2013), The Salvation Army of the Midlands assisted 4,108 children from 1,832 families with food, clothes and toys.
One of our most exciting holiday programs at Christmas are our popular Angel Trees in malls around the area that allow members of the public to “adopt” a needy child and purchase Christmas gifts for him or her. Television station WLTX works with CMRTA to host the Stuff A Bus project. This project collects toys and food to give to those in need.
Through these and other traditional programs, we share the spirit of Christmas giving to those who need it most year after year.
Many thanks to our friends at Time Warner Cable for donating toys and volunteer time to help people during the 2012 Christmas season. Check out this linked video to learn more about their efforts in Columbia and beyond.
