Homeless Services
The homeless face extraordinary barriers in meeting basic human needs. The Salvation Army served 47,567 meals in 2009. We provide clothes, coats, shoes, and other necessities. Staff meet daily with clients--problem solving, goal setting, and encouraging growth and change. In 2009, The Salvation Army helped 45 homeless individuals secure a permanent residence while receiving active case management. Overall, 1,037 homeless individuals received assistance with basic needs. 1,663 clothing vouchers were issued to the homeless. 192 hygiene kits were distributed. The Salvation Army provides additional assistance based on individual client needs.
